Dear Colleagues:

Warm nationalist greetings!

Solidaridad, the UP system-wide alliance of student publications and writers’ organizations, is gearing up for its annual writers’ congress set on October 21-24 in UP Baguio. The Solidaridad Congress is the highest policy making body of the alliance. It also serves as a major consolidation activity for member publications and organizations.

This years theme, “PRESSent Tense: Renewed Repression, Resurging Struggles,” focuses on evolved forms of press freedom violations and the revitalized efforts of student journalists to defend campus press freedom. Discussions will tackle the present state of the campus press in light of extensive political repression currently hounding the people. Various journalism skills workshops will also be held. (Program to follow)

As such, we would like to invite your publication/organization to the said activity. Registration fee is pegged at P750 per head, which will cover board and lodging as well as press kits. Your attendance is key in fortifying the ranks of student journalists geared to defend campus press freedom during this bleak period of political repression.

For inquiries, please feel free to contact us through 09154509846 (Floyd) or solidaridad0607@yahoogroups.com.

Thank you very much for your support!

Truly yours,

(SGD)
Frank Lloyd Tiongson
Solidaridad Chairperson
